In order to encourage development, the City of Philadelphia provides ten-year abatement of real estate taxes on new industrial and commercial construction, as well as on improvements to deteriorated properties. The exemption is for the additional assessment which is attributable to the improvement and remains in effect for the full ten years, regardless of sale or exchange of the property. |
